Topic

Our topic this term is here to stay on Thursday 30 two guest speakers came in to tell us how they came to New Zealand. The first person was Mr Tran and then Mrs Johnston..Mr Tran came from Vietnam and Mrs Johnston is from South Africa.Mr Tran Notes:It took 30 days (6 weeks) to get from Vietnam to Hon-gong {wow that's a long time}Came to New Zealand in 1994.

Mr Tran has been in New Zealand for about 20 years. Came in a bout of bamboo.

Mrs Johnston Notes:Was 17 when came to New Zealand.Came to New Zealand with family.NZ is way colder then South Africa.She has been in New Zealand 26 years.

Te Papa trip room 13

                                   


On Monday the 4th of August Room 13 went to Te Papa for Wearable Art 2014.
All these classes are in it 13 14 11 18.In Te Papa room 13 did a culture task and a Matarki task.
But the most important task was the Wearable art task because that was what we were there for the Wearable art for our production. Photos from Te Papa: 

The commonwealth games day at Kapanui school

At Kapanui school there was a Commonwealth games day and I was in Scotland and for our opening ceremony Scotland did waving our Scotland flags we made and we said some of the things  from Scotland.  We also said some of the things that Scotland invented and some of us wore kilts and all of us wore tartan.
